7-26 Wanaka

So we've been here in Wanaka for the past few days working on the farm. We drove down on Sunday, stopping at the glaciers, and arrived in town in time to witness the barrage of snowboarders in town. After sleeping in the Love Shack, (the last available room, fully decked out in romantic decor), we went to Puzzle World. The main entrance is full of all sorts of puzzles that you can sit around and attempt to solve. They also have a huge labyrinth which takes 30 minutes to an hour to complete. It definitely took us a while but was fun to navigate. They also had a few rooms of illusions, including a room with a sloped floor to throw off your perception of normalcy. Then we headed off to our farm.

The farm is just outside of Wanaka and is a very large tract of land in the middle of a big, flat valley. The hosts are very friendly and they have three very entertaining children, aged 14, 11, and 7. So far we have weeded their extremely long vegetable garden and have filled in the second garden with soil. We've also learned how to attack broom and baked some muesli. Things are going pretty well and it is interesting to hear their philosophy on organics, etc. More updates throughout the week as the work progresses. Cheers.
